Lucy Marie Rubringer (Cherek)
Lucy M. Rubringer (nee Cherek) (Schuenke), of Waukesha, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the age of 89. Lucy was born to Frank and Laura Cherek on August 29, 1928 in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was a lifelong member of St. William Catholic Church and was in the choir for many years. She was an active member of the Waukesha Old Car Club, the Christian Women’s Association, and the Fireman’s Auxiliary. Lucy was a huge Green Bay Packers fan and she loved to watch the weekly games with her family. Lucy also loved her garden and spent many hours tending to her flowers.
Lucy will be deeply missed by her children, Brian (Yolanda) Schuenke, Jodi Schuenke, Martha “Mardi” Freeman, Michael (Jody) Schuenke, Sue (Dan) Trost, Dan (Candise) Schuenke, Curtis (Jackie) Rubringer, Wendy (Cliff) Gyles, Rick (Sandy) Rubringer, Deb (Rich) Wagner, Tim Rubringer, and Jeff Rubringer; her siblings, Grace Roller, Tom (Sally) Cherek, Bill Cherek, Mary Moose and Kathy (Bill) Rohrback; her brother in law, Bill Orne; and 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Laura Cherek; her first husband, Lloyd (Butch) Schuenke, and second husband, Curt Rubringer; and her siblings Bernie Morris, Barbara Orne, Larry Cherek and Bud Cherek.
The visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the prayer service at 6:30 P.M. at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188. The funeral mass will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. (noon) at St. William Catholic Church, 440 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha, WI 53188, the Rev. Harry Buzbuzian will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
