Obituary for
John L. "Jack" Denk
John(Jack) Denk of Waukesha, WI was born to Eternal Life on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, with his family by his side, at the age of 83 years. He was born in Greenwood, WI, the son of William and Mary Denk. Jack married the love of his life, Shirley Rasmussen on October 3, 1959. He was a proud United States Army veteran from Oct. 1954 to Oct. 1956; he spent that time in Germany. Jack was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Genesee Depot and worked as a carpenter most of his adult life. He enjoyed deer hunting, bowling and golf; most of all he loved to sing. Jack sang in a barbershop chorus thru the years, the St. Paul Choir for 50 years and a quartet for 18 years.
Jack will be sadly missed by his wife, Shirley of 58 years, children Scott A.(Lindsay Sayles) Denk, Mark Denk, John L. Denk Jr., Jeanne M. Denk, Timothy J. (Cori) Denk and Julie A. (Tad) Denk, grandchildren Justin Broberg, Morgan Denk, Sam Denk, Sydney Denk, Zachary Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Cale Denk and Zoe Denk, great grandson Dominic Samuel Orozco. He is further survived by a brother Ronald (Mary Jo) Denk and sister-in-law Beverly Denk, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, son James D. Denk, siblings Gerald (Annie), Donald (Margie), William(Bud) (Marcy), Marion (Archie) Lyons, Dorothy (Victor) Wagner, Leonard (Mary), Virgil (Geraldine), and Bernard Denk.
A visitation for Jack will be held on Friday, September, 22, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, S38 W31602 Hwy D, Genesee Depot, WI 53127. The Rev. Dan Volkert will be officiating. The burial will take place immediately following the mass at St. Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wales-Genesee Lions Club, S42 W31400 Highway 83, Genesee Depot, WI 53127 or St. Paul Catholic Church (see above) would be appreciated. The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice and the Visiting Angels Staff for the compassionate care they gave to Jack.
