Obituary for David Ulrich "Dave" Jennings

David Ulrich "Dave" Jennings
David U. “Dave” Jennings of Wales left to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the age of 78 years. He was born in Lansing, MI on December 20, 1938. On November 22, 1967 he married his beloved wife Barbara A. Kittner. Dave earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Ripon College, and served our country in the Army as a Captain. He had a successful career in the insurance industry, became a CPCU educator, & retired from Chrysler Insurance in 2000.

Dave was an aggressive sportsman who loved hunting and fishing with his best man, Carl Euller, and golfing with his Wednesday morning buddies at Nagawaukee. He also enjoyed tennis, baseball, softball, soccer, football, Indy racing and skiing. Dave was an avid fan of Kettle Moraine athletics and spent many years as an umpire for softball leagues in Wales. Dave had a wry wit, but above all, he loved his family and country. He will be forever remembered as a loyal, loving and dedicated son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

The devoted husband of Barbara. Loving father of Debra L. (Todd) Bennett, John K. (Leah) Jennings. Proud Grandpa of Zackery J.G. Bennett, and proud New Pop of Casey L. Jennings. He is further survived by his brother John C. (Jane) Jennings, Jr. and niece Jessica (Chris) Jennings-Monaghan. He was preceded in death by his parents Alice U. and John C. Jennings and his brothers Donald E. and Robert W. Jennings.

On Thursday, July 20th at 4:00pm a graveside service and burial will take place at Jerusalem Cemetery, 1927-2236 S. Wales Rd. (Hwy 83) Wales, WI 53183, (corner of Hwy 83 & S. Brandybrook Rd.). The family will host a Celebration of Dave’s life after the service. For more information, please contact Deb Bennett at dujstrong@gmail.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wales Village Hall, ATTN: Dave Jennings, 129 W. Main St. Wales, WI 53183 for a memorial near the baseball fields, or AngelsGrace Hospice, N74 W35908 Servants' Way, Oconomowoc, WI 53066.

A special thank you to all of the caregivers (doctors, nurses, cna's and support staff) at the UW Cancer Center, Waukesha Memorial Hospital, and AngelsGrace Hospice that provided outstanding care and support for Dave and our family through the last 13 months along this journey.
