Obituary for Timothy James "Tim" Mathews

Timothy James "Tim" Mathews
Timothy James “Tim” Mathews, lifelong resident of Waukesha, joined his father for a round of golf at the big course in the sky on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 63. He was born on November 24, 1953, the son of James and Nova Mathews. Tim graduated from Catholic Memorial High School and received his degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He worked at General Electric for many years and owned and operated Schlotzsky’s Deli in Oconomowoc with his wife, Sue. In his spare time, Tim also enjoyed working as a Real Estate agent. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed taking road trips with his family and friends to Florida, and loved nothing more than a cold beer and a nice cigar with a good friend.

Tim will be missed by his wife, Sue; daughters, Amanda (Jake) Gustafson and Tracy Mathews; precious new granddaughter, Laine; his mother, Nova; and his four-legged companion, Mallory. He joins his father, Jim; and siblings, Mike Mathews and Mary Roth in Heaven.

Visitation for Tim will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:45p.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1415 Dopp St. Waukesha, WI. 53188. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Ascension Lutheran Church (see address above), Outreach for Hope (c/o Greater Milwaukee Synod - ELCA 1212 S. Layton Blvd. Milwaukee, WI 53215), or Habitat for Humanity (2020 Springdale Road Waukesha, WI. 53186), are appreciated.

Tim’s family would like to thank the Intensive Care Unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care.
