Wendy Sue Albertz (Badciong)
Wendy Sue (Badciong) Albertz, 67, died suddenly on January 14, 2017 from complications of pneumonia. Wendy was the daughter of Bernice and Norbert Badciong. She was born on December 27, 1949 and lived all but fifteen years of her life in Waukesha.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; her sons, Jeffrey and James (Stacy S) of Colorado, and David of Waukesha; and the light of her life, her granddaughter Kyla Albertz of Wauwatosa. She will be greatly missed by her sisters, Nancy Badciong and Laurie Witkowski, both of Waukesha; her sisters- and brother-in-law, Phyllis Albertz, Barbara (Frank) Huntington, Mary (Wayne) Mertens, Joseph (Elena) Albertz, and Karen (Paul) Cibula; many nieces and nephews, especially Jessica (Randy) Seder and Lisa Witkowski; and her grandnephew Aiden Seder. Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law James Witkowski, and her parents-in-law Betty and Ralph Albertz.
Wendy was a graduate of UW-Oshkosh with double majors in Math and Psychology. She and Mike raised their sons in Denver and Waukesha. Wendy was employed as a senior examiner in insurance subrogation since the family returned to Wisconsin in 1993. She retired two years ago and delighted spending time in her new winter home in Quartzsite, Arizona. While the love and focus of her life was always her family, Wendy enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking and baking. Her cookie trays were legendary. She wanted to see all 50 states and almost did that thanks to Mike, she loved riding all over the country with him. She was an avid Packers fan, and also enjoyed watching the Broncos, Brewers and Rockies.
A memorial service for Wendy will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Cesarz, Charapata Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd., Waukesha. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm, followed by a service officiated by Deacon Paul Cibula.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to the American Cancer Society, N19 W24350 Riverwood Drive, Waukesha, WI. 53188.
