Obituary for
Florence E. Holtan (Schoenike)
Of Waukesha passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the age of 92 years. She was born in Lebanon, WI, the daughter of George and Dina Schoenike. Florence married the love of her life, Kenneth Holtan on October 25, 1946 in Des Moines, IA. She worked for 30 years at Briggs and Stratton. Florence liked bingo, playing cards, traveling to Las Vegas with her husband and spending time at Lake Butte des Morts. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Carole Spengler and Wayne (Julie) Holtan; grandchildren, Craig Spengler, Michelle Kopacz and Holly (Chuck) Kaatz; great-grandchildren, Meagan Spengler, Michaela Kaatz, Ryan Kaatz, Danielle Kopacz, and Aubree Kopacz; and great-great grandchildren, Ivan and Elijah. She is further survived by her sister, Doris Elliott; sisters-in-law, Ruth Schoenike and Darlene Schoenicke; nieces and nephews, Cindi, Tom, Tim, Jim, Candi, and Sandy; other relatives and many friends. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; sister, Irene Lauer; brothers, Palmer, Victor, Robert and Edgar Schoenike.
A visitation for Florence will take place on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the 6:00 p.m. funeral service at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 N. Moreland Blvd. Waukesha, WI. 53188. The private entombment is at Prairie Home Cemetery.
